TATTOO AND PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Be sure to properly care for your new tattoo or piercing so that it heals nice and doesn't get infected.
TATTOO AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Wash your new tattoo with warm water and an antibacterial soap 2-3 times each day.
2. Gently pat dry with a clean towel or allow to air dry.
3. Apply a thin layer of tattoo aftercare product to your fresh tattoo.
4. If you don't have a specific tattoo aftercare product sold in tattoo shops, we recommend using Aquaphor. DO NOT use petroleum jelly or A&D ointment.
5. Apply as needed to keep your fresh tattoo moist and to maintain a light sheen for the next 4-7 days. DO NOT apply a heavy amount, just enough to make it shiny. If you get up during the night to use the bathroom it is good to apply it during this time being it comes off in your bedding while you're sleeping.
6. DO NOT allow your tattoo to dry out while it is healing.
7. DO NOT cover or wrap your fresh tattoo with a non-breathable cover such as plastic wrap. Your tattoo needs air.
8. DO NOT allow your new tattoo to soak in water while it is healing.
NON-ORAL PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Swelling is normal during the first few days with a new piercing.
2. Be sure to wash your hands every time before touching your new piercing.
3. Clean your piercing with warm water and an antibacterial soap and rinse thoroughly. (In the shower is a great time to clean your new piercing.)
4. While washing your new piercing be sure to twist your jewelry and slide it back and forth.
5. Pat dry with a clean towel or allow to air dry.
6. Apply a piercing aftercare saline product to your new piercing and allow to air dry. If you do not have an aftercare product that was purchased at a store or tattoo shop you can make a solution out of sea salt and distilled water.
ORAL PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Healing time is 4-6 weeks on oral piercings.
2. Swelling is normal for the first few days with oral piercings. Ice will help with swelling.
3. Rinse your mouth at least 4-6 times per day with an antibacterial mouthwash. Alcohol-free mouthwash won't sting as bad. Be sure to rinse your mouth after eating, drinking, smoking, kissing, before you go to bed and first thing in the morning.
4. Be sure to rinse your mouth thoroughly for at least 60 seconds each time you rinse with mouthwash.
LIP PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Follow the ORAL PIERCING AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS above.
2. Clean the outside of your lip piercing with warm water and an antibacterial soap at least 2-3 times each day.
3. Be sure to twist your jewelry and slide it back and forth when cleaning.
4. Pat dry with a clean towel or paper towel or allow to air dry.
5. Apply a piercing aftercare saline product to your new piercing and allow to air dry. If you do not have an aftercare product that was purchased at a store or tattoo shop you can make a solution out of sea salt and distilled water.
